XI. INTERNATIONAL TURKOLOGY CONGRESS

Dear Researchers,

With our belief in the importance of scientific discussions to be held on the Turkish language, culture, history and social structures, we are expecting your participation in the XIthTurkology Congress congress ”Turkic World and Turkology". This congress, which aims to strengthen the ties between Turkology, the Turkic World and Turkish cultures, to understand the heritage of Turkish communities living in different geographies, to address the challenges and opportunities faced by these societies from past to present, offers a base of interdisciplinary interaction.

This congress will be an important scientific platform where current developments in the field of Turkology will be discussed with sessions that will be held on a wide range of topics from Turkish language and literature, Turkish culture, historical heritage, to the political and socio-economic structure of the Turkic World. Participants will have the opportunity to explore new dimensions of research conducted on Turkology and the Turkic World by exchanging ideas with academicians, researchers and students who are experts in their field.

Congress Information: 

  • Congress Date: October 1-3, 2025 
  • Location: Akhmet Yassawi International Turkish-Kazakh University Campus, Turkistan/Kazakhstan
  • Language of the Congress: Turkish / Kazakh/ Russian / English
  • Many different aspects of the Turkic World and Turkological research will be discussed in the congress. The main topics that will be discussed at our congress are as follows:
  1. Turkish Language and Literature

The historical process of the Turkish language and literature, its current situation, development processes and interactions between different Turkish dialects will be discussed. In addition, the relations of Turkish with the world languages, the classical and modern periods of Turkish literature, folk literature and new literary concepts will be the subject of discussion. The role of Turkish in literary production and linguistic diversity in the Turkic world will also be discussed under this heading.

  1. Turkish Culture and Art 

Discussions will be held on the deep-rooted history of Turkish culture, traditional art branches, cultural expressions such as Turkish folk music, classical Turkish music, cinema and visual arts. In addition, the handicrafts, traditional clothing and food culture of the Turkish peoples are also important topics covered in this title. How Turkish culture is shaped in different geographies and cultural interactions will be examined.

  1. Turkish Historical and Socio-Cultural Structures 

The historical journey of the Turks, the states and civilizations they founded, their social structures, cultural riches and the historical heritage of the Turkish peoples that have survived to the present day will be an important topic of our congress. The cultural, social and political changes experienced in the Turkish world from the early periods of Turkish history to the present will be examined.

  1. The Turkic World and International Relations 

The studies to be carried out on the cultural, political, economic and social structure of the Turkic World, the importance of regional cooperation and international relations will be discussed. Issues such as cooperation opportunities between the Turkic World, diaspora and migration, relations between the Turkic Republics and the processes of spreading the Turkic language will be discussed.

  1. Turkish Education and Language Policies 

Turkish language learning and teaching, development of Turkish language policies, presentations to be made on the promotion of Turkish language and literature worldwide will be collected under this heading. In-depth discussions will be held on the teaching and protection of the Turkish language, the challenges and opportunities faced by the Turkish language in the globalization process.

  1. Current Socio-Political and Economic Developments in the Turkish World 

Scientific studies on the socio-political and economic changes experienced in the Turkish World in recent years will also take place in our congress. Under this heading, the social problems faced by the Turkish communities, the developing economic relations, the changes in the international sphere and the geopolitical dynamics in the Turkish world will be discussed.

Participation and Application:

Submit your abstracts for participation in our congress until the deadline for submission to the e-mail turkoloji.kongresi2025@ayu.edu.kz  or via congress website. The abstracts of the papers will be evaluated by the congress committee and a detailed program description will be made for the accepted papers. Those who want to participate in our congress must register by June 20, 2025.

 The congress program will be published after the evaluation of the applications and the participants will be notified by e-mail. In addition, all updates and announcements related to the congress will be done over https://turkoloji.ayu.edu.kz/tr.

We will be pleased to welcome all scholars contributing to Turkology and Turkic World research, as well as participants interested in Turkish cultures and languages. By sharing our scientific knowledge, we hope to bring new dimensions to research in this field.
